I was wondering whether a withdrawal from an Ulster Bank ATM using a Natwest Maestro card in the Republic of Ireland is charged the same as using any other ATM anywhere abroad.
I believe that Ulster Bank and Natwest are both part of RBS, so was wondering whether that link allows a reduced or removed charge for withdrawals.
Any ideas? I can't seem to find anything trustworthy on the web to answer this.

Not sure if this helps but I live in the North and when I use my Visa Debit card in the Republic of Ireland I don't get charged a fee. I'm sure Maestro should be the same.

I never bother with exchanging currency because it's so much easier just to get it out of a machine when you get there. My bank (based in the North) always gives me a good exchange rate too.

Try contacting your local branch of NatWest. They should be able to advise you of any charges you may incur when using your card outisde the UK.
