Saw this and was going to recommend your nearest casualty unit.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
You need something a bit smaller than a water butt. Carrots only need soil a bit deeper than their roots, say 12" for most of them.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

What about buying some cheap plastic storage boxes from Tesco or somewhere similar. Drill a few holes in the bottom for drainage and you'll be weel away. They have some at £2 each.Kind Regards

carrott fly only meant to fly so high ,plus saw carrotts grown in a butt on a gardening prog and the bloke on there grew em in a butt and said it was the best carrotts he`d had in 20 years of gardening, no fly ,no bugs to gnaw at them etc.0

morning
I have tried carrots in raised beds, the garden etc but the most successful was in a large tub, carrot fly apparently dos'nt go above 18", for next season I have started filling a large bin with all sorts of rubbish and waste , and will top off with a foot / 18" or so of topsoil and compost and plant away with carrot seed, have fun0 -
Or you could just cover with a bit of enviromesh, or net curtains?Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

It's not all bad news, growing them in a butt is bound to produce PILES of carrots :rotfl:
