Hi ,,i have just had a quote from a reputable kitchen supplier and i have just been quoted 12k for a complete new kitchen,,,evrything integral,,fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, cooker ,stainless steel cooker hood, effect lighting, fitting ect,,,now i am going to get the price down,,,and i wandered as a rough estimate what do these sales people expect to be knocked down to???i will be going back into the shop to look at the generated design on the computer,,i wont and cant afford 12k what is a reasonable barter price, the company does seem to be more swish than the B&Q type kitchens,,,,not that there is anything wrong with B&Q i just didnt see anything i liked in there,,,,,thank you for any replies

Woah a 12k kitchen.....
Have they provided you with a detailed breakdown of exactly where the money is going? I would recommend getting that as part of the quotation terms.
No matter how reptutable they are, the bigger they are the more money they want.. so be very carefull, I would search around online for appliances and go to somewhere like Howdens or MFI, they have a decent range of units.
It would cost you half that.... but going with this company I would say you could try bring them down 20%, they have huge mark-ups.0 -
yes i thought that..........i like the kitchen , but not at that price,,,,,,,and i was thinking about 8k?????and yes i will be expecting a break down of the bill,,i have been on line and looked at the price of the integral stuff,,and as i expected it much less than stated by the salesman..hmmmmmm0

What I would do is take print outs of companies that are selling the same appliances and show the salesman... try to double check with that company if they will price match against the company you are currently dealing with... then tell him quite simply... price match it or I walk... he wont want to loose his commission either!0

..also if i dont go ahead with the kitchen fitted because of an over priced estimate ,,do they keep coming back to you with a better figure , so they get your business in the end???0

hmmm after chattin with various people i think this is well over priced,,anyhow i am keeping my appointment to see the computer genrated images of it,,and i will take it from there..0
