Buying electricals abroad.

in Credit cards
I'm planning on buying a camcorder whilst in the States (and declaring it on return). The problem is I'd like to buy a Canon one and I've noticed Canon only provide warranty cover inside the USA for purchases made there.
I was wondering if Section 75 covers faults which may develop once I'm back from my holiday, as I don't want to have to deal with a US retailer if I'm back in the UK. I understand my credit card would probably cover faults immediately or not long after purchase, but would it cover say 1 year, to act as a warranty?
I've noticed my credit card offers, extended warranties, but only on purchases made in the UK.

Yes you're covered by Section 75.0

Thanks for that. Just in case I need to talk to the credit card company (fingers crossed that I won't buy anything which develops a fault), is there anything I can refer to regarding how long electricals are covered by CCs against faults. I know about the 2006 court decision that all rules apply abroad too.
Thanks!0 -
Update: I contacted Consumer Direct and they've confirmed that the purchase would be covered for up to 6 years (not expecting the item to necessarily last that time), but a 1 year cover would be covered on a sliding scale, though the CC company may try to limit the time period (wrongly).0
