Hi
I know this has been asked again and again. Here is what I've seen:
http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.203-4147.aspx
My budget is really less than £250. This is coming in at £279, however my view is that I could probably get it for less than £250 with some banked money off vouchers with Tesco, Quidco and with this laptop for £10 I can have the Canon MP140 All in one printer which is coming up as £89. If I can flog this on Ebay for say £50 new never opened as I've got a printer, I could be looking at a good deal perhaps?
Need it to do the follwing:
Browse Internet
Downloand tunes/burn disc
General Word processing/office
Don't do games just general stuff. Not bothered about webcam, but would have liked blue tooth, but no worries if not.
Can anyone advise me of a better deal????
Much appreciated.
Rachel

It looks OK
Your price on the printer is a bit ambitious.
I've just checked Ebay:
£10 +£10 postage is typical - possibly £15 +£15
So don't bank on £50.
Tesco is a good place for basic laptops though.
Try www.ebuyer.com for some more ideas.

Hi Rachel. I think yjou are going to be looking at getting about £25 for the printer on Ebay http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38.l1313&_nkw=Canon+MP140+All+in+one+printer&_sacat=See-All-Categories
The one you are looking at will do everything you ask but one costing about £50 more would do it all so much better and faster. I'd go for a Dell or Acer myself.I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!

Over on HUKD they have suggested the Tesco one isn't that gooder deal and yes, I realise now the £50 may haev been too ambitious. Some nice person on HUKD suggested thsi http://www.staples.co.uk/ENG/Catalog/cat_sku.asp?CT=1&Description=UK_CL_Laptops+-+Fujitsu&CatIds=21797,35750,90635&webid=396487&affixedcode=WW
What do you think. 7% quidco, it's still a bit over budget. Do you guys know of anything £250 ish that is a general all rounder. My technical knowledge is zip so I really am looking for someone to point a good deal out to me!0 -
Very difficult to decide between the two
The eMachine has the better processor (Celeron 5.60 2.13gh) and has wifi installed (ie you can connect wirelessly) and 1gb of memory - which should just about be enough. It also has a 160gb hard drive
The Fujitsu has a less good processor Celeron M540 1.86GHz, doesn't seem to have wifi installed but has a 3gb of memory - only 120gb hard drive.
Both will do what you want of them.
Of the two I would go for the eMachine but there is not much in it.I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!
