Hot water not working properly

I have a Worcester 'heatslave' 9.24 BF Combi bolier.
Heating is fine and I bleed the radiators every year, but my hot water is playing up. It has always been slow to come downstairs but good upstairs. Now though, the water comes through hot for about 15 seconds and then runs stoney cold. I've looked through the instructions but there's nothing relevant to help me. I've tried turning up the temp gauge on the bolier and I've fiddled with the 'advance' button, but I'm not sure what that's for?
Any advice gratefully received.
Thank you and merry christmas x

Is the thermostat on your tank in the airing cupboard working properly? I had this problem this week and after several different repairs to my boiler another man came and put a new thermostat on the tank. Problem now solved.“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Your really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.” Lucille Ball.0

Thanks Elaine, but I don't have an airing cupboard, there's just the boiler. Thanks anyway.Shanni0

I'm not familiar with this boiler but it sounds like your diverter valve has given up the ghost. I might be taking rubbish but it sounds similar to when my Valliant did the same thing. You will need an engineer to check it out I'm afraid. The quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0

I'd go with the above as well, also could probably be a blocked up secondary heat exchanger.Ex forum ambassador
