Roughly i am looking to invest £25,000 in a 1 year bond want to get the best possible deal at this moment i would be interested in anything around 6.5%.

Tesco's giving 6.5% at the minute. And clubcard points too - up to 2000! I'm not sure if that's a fixed rate though, it looks like it might be but there's nothing that I can see which confirms that!

6.3% with the AA (part of HBOS), 6% with Kent Reliance Building Society or Clydesdale.
