Well I've just been out for lunch with my mum & her neighbour, Vera, to celebrate her 90th birthday

Lovely lunch, but the conversation was hard work.

Me: Have you looked at the menu Vera, how about the Sea Bass?
Vera: I had prawns on Monday
Me: So don't you want fish then?
    Vera: I might have salmon
Me: Is that what you fancy? Salmon
Vera: There's no puddings on this menu....
Me: Do you want to look at the desert menu before you order your main?
Vera: I dont usually have a pudding
Me: Are you having salmon then?
Vera: I had prawns on Monday

Mum was just sat there laughing at me thinking-006.GIF

Cheeky - hope you are healing well, love the little woohoo smilie :D

Sounds like you had loads of 'fun' at lunch! But you've left us all hanging.... what did Vera have to celebrate her birthday? (Oohh just had a thought - perhaps she was hoping for birthday cake & that was why the 'no puddings on the menu comment' was made?)!
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out

  • To end the suspense, Vera went for..........................salmon & prawns (even though she had those on Monday  ) in white wine sauce. She only ate half the salmon & I had to ask for a doggy bag for her - thought she was going to give it to me for Buffy, but it went in her enormous handbag probably never to be seen again :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I had spicy bean casserole - scrummy!!

And in fairness, I have to say that Vera is a lovely lady, but her conversation isn't exactly linear!:D

Well Done Splodz to you and your workmates :T:T:T Be nice if you got a mention tonight!

Kids said their Primary school had raised £500 but I me thinks there's chinese whispers afoot, its a wee school and that's an awfully exact figure ;)
