    our dear claudia

i couldn't believe her and what she was doing. really was remarkable that she managed to convince herself that she would "lose everything" if she didn't buy in the next two weeks.

not that kirsty did anything to help. producers shouldn't have let claudia on the show either.

I just googled "Kirsty Allsop" fault and on the first page, this thread came up:eek::D

Krusty Allcrap comes out of hiding
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1247485

Of course Kirstie would probably have used the proper spelling for her own name and would have gotten this link first.

Don't blame me for the property crash

Why she would want to live in Stockwell over Muswell hill baffled us though. After all, they feel like totally different worlds within the same city. Id be in Muswell hill like a shot over stockwell. We suggested the only reason why she would choose that was cos she could claim its "clapham borders" . I live just up the road from Stockwell and ( sorry to all who live there) really rough.

I found that really strange too. She wanted to live in north London and she was shown a decent looking flat in the lovely Muswell Hill, yet she chose a renovation project in grotty Stockwell. Perhaps the limited transport options in Muswell Hill put her off. They never said where she worked, so she could have been looking at an extra hour a day travel? And Muswell Hill isn't as "trendy" as Clapham, although it's a zillion times classier.

i bet someone got to her with some "up and coming" nonsense about stockwell. it wasn't only a renovation project, it was a renovation project where she could not really afford the capital cost itself, let alone the refurbishment budget, and did not have the personal experience or expertise to do the work herself.

furthermore the flat is in an undesirable estate, sandwiched between several other undersirable estates. stockwell is, in the main, a great big run down estate. it doesn't matter how nice she makes it inside, i doubt it will materially improve the property's value.

she'll probably strip the wall paper off, paint it a rubbish colour, then cry a bit and move back in with her parents.

Claudia thought she was buying in St. Ockwell, not Stockwell, easy mistake to make.
  • Is that near St. Reatham, Ba-terse-ia, and Barm? (Streatham, Battersea, and Balham)

I think that in the present climate this is probably one of the most secure jobs as they cannot recruit enough people to do this job. As in any recession/credit crunch it's the public services that are the main job stay of the country.

Cutting back on wages? There are set wages scales for all personnel that are agreed by Parliament that can't be cut back. That means the average soldier will get 2.5% yearly inflation payrise and an additional aprox 1.5% each year for the first seven years in each rank.

Suddenly all those who were on a better pay cheque in the private sector are wishing they were with their mates in the public sector imho.

Possibly biased as I'm in the forces and my wife is in the NHS.
30th June 2021 completely debt free…. Downsized, reduced working hours and living the dream.

So what happens after withdrawal from Iraq? Obama has stated quite clearly that he want's his army completely out in the the near future, so the UK is hardly going to maintain a military presence with out the US, is it? Won't the military have too many men and women on the payroll once that happens? Aren't soldiers usually demobbed following the end of a war?

I have no idea, btw, I'm just curious.

I couldn't finish watching it. The two are self serving, condescending, patronising people. How they ever persuaded anyone to let them make this 90 minute programme to allow them even more of a forum for self-aggrandisement I don't know!
