In my experience, no.
Basically, if you are travelling with a laptop try to keep to places with plug points (they now have them on trains for example).

can you get longer lasting replacements?0

Yes, but they are only usually going to last, say, 50% longer than normal ones (so 3 hours instead of 2).Gambler wrote:can you get longer lasting replacements?
Although, with 2 batteries I suppose you could swap them when the first got low...0 -
Yes you can its a toss up beteewn Lith Ion and Nickel Hydride or summet
plus try not to plug to many peripherals in, mind you I havent see may people
on a Bus with a printer and scanner aswell.0 -
If you really need to run the laptop for some hours reliably then consider an external power supply like this http://www.battech.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=738
Advantage is long life off the mains - disadvantage is extra weight.
This is the compromise that is present in the design of every laptop which is to be used off mains extensively.
A further point - if you don't use your laptop off mains from time to time then you may well find that the battery will be hopeless after a year orless.qui tacet consentire -
