Buy Thai Baht? Where is best?

Starting to look at that ready for when we go next Feb.

Will obviously want to take some cash, where offers the best rates normally? Also does anyone have any advice on what to use over there? I have a Nationwide Flexaccount which I have used when travelling to different countries but this is my first time in Thailand. Should I use this card as i do normally or look at travellers cheques?

Thank you in advance

  • I go Thailand every year and the Nationwide card is fine lots of access over there, I take a little UK money again very easy to change over there and rates much better, I normally get very little Thai money to travel with via travelex to use at the airport as I travel from Bkk onto Phuket, I am there again in April, Feb is a good time there too.

  • Thanks for that, glad to hear I can use that. I normallt do pre order my money from Travelex and collect from the airport as I find you get a better rate.

Will some some GBP as well to try and convert as well.

  • I travelled around Thailand in the summer and used my nationwide debit card to withdraw cash everywhere and never had a problem. It also gives you a much better exchange rate than any exchange here.
  • If you want to have a little cash before you go over there, I have always found the M&S bureau de change very good value for money - although I haven't used them for a while, and I have not looked at any rates.
