Thomson Hotels, My anger!

Booked a hotel in Futuerventura for Nov 23rd, for £110 only to have an E-Mail today from Thomson advertising the exact same hotel on a promotion for only £42 for the same date/s! I rung Thomson and apparently I dont have a leg to stand on! GUTTED AND ANGRY!

What would you do if you had paid £42 and they emailed you stating that the price had gone up to £110 and you had to pay the difference?

Supply and demand, you paid a price you were happy with. Why did you then check again and as has already been said would you offer to pay more if it had gone up?

Very true. Still gutted (As a money saver) that Ive lost out!
  • There was only a very small chance of this happening.

The overwhelming chance was that the price would have gone up and up and up and as Incapuppy said, you wouldn't have gone back to them to pay the increase.

If you'd have waited, your hotel might have filled up.

Consider yourself unlucky, no point getting angry. Just one of those things.

Is it £110 per night or for longer?

You might find that although the price per person has been reduced the actual holiday is around the same price. Ive noticed when booking holidays the company advertises a low price such as £42 but when booking, and taking into account room under occupancies fees taxes etc etc the total price is nothing like the £42 you started with. I dont whether you should check this or not because of course this might make it even worse. Have a good hol anyway.

If you were happy at the time with the price, don't stress yourself lifes too short, i've come to the conclusion in life worry about something you can do something about, and there probably is a catch to the promotion when you work the final price out.

I booked NYE at travelodge Manchester Airport and paid £51, decided i needed another room and looked yesterday and paid £19. Its life - like someone has said already, how would you feel if it increased and they wanted the difference.

Best advice is to just settle for what you have and then dont look again. Although booking with Thomson your almost always going to find the hotel cheaper else where.

i would only grumble if the price went up and they expected you to fork out

Sorry to the OP if I sounded a bit harsh before - you win some, you lose some, thats life I'm afraid ;0)
