Help!!!!

I have sold a sat nav update on ebay - which is un used!

How ever the buyer has emailed me saying that it doesn't work and it is clear it has already been used and to send him a refund and then he will send the disc back!!!

I don't think so pal!!! He is trying to say that the code has been used (which i know for a fact it hasn't!) I have a feeling he is trying to con me as this product is brand new. I have emailed telling him that when he has sent the cd back and i have checked it - only then will i reund - it is a new buyer and i am sure he has updated his sat nav and is now trying to blag a refund.

Any advise/tips please?

Firstly Paypal will insist the buyer sends it back to you at their own cost, so dont pay for this. You can not say i am not refunding as he will just open a dispute.

Let them send it back, check it over check serial numbers(if you took note of the one u sent, you can compare) and make sure it was the one you sent.
Some people have been known to buy the same model they have and swap it for a damaged one, thus sending that one back to the seller.

Politely remind him that even if he goes through Paypal, they'll only refund after he's returned the Sat Nav, (actually, they'll ask for a tracking number too!) Would he expect any other online retailer or High St shop to refund wothout having their goods back?
