There was an offer for £50 on HSBC site for opening a current account just on 13-14 may:

Bank Account £50 Offer:
All of our usual account opening procedures, product terms and conditions, key features documents and rates and fees will apply except as varied by these offer terms and conditions.
If you successfully open a Bank Account between 13 May 2008 and 14 May 2008 inclusive, we will pay you £50 provided you keep your account open for at least 66 days from account opening and pay in at least £1,000 within that time.
We will pay the £50 directly into your Bank Account approximately 66 days after the date of account opening.
The problem is that HSBC is refusing to pay the £50 because they say it was just for bank account Plus, but there was nothing about that in the t&c of the offer, and the apply now button was pointing to a basic bank account application.
Did anybody got the money from HSBC or there are any other people in this situation?
I'm a bit angry because I had to go to the branch 4 times to open the account because they lost my ID papers and wait 45 min each time. And now they refuse to pay the bonus...

This was an online only offer and unfortunately was not available in the branch so therefore it is unlikely the branch will pay for the error as they did not lose the paperwork. Ask for your concern to be logged and to be compensated for the loss of paperwork and personal documents if that was sent.Loan-£3600 only 24 months of payments to go!!!
All debt consolodated and cards destroyed!!

I did apply on-line, but then you have to go to the branch with the ID and address papers. That is when they lost the papers. And the branches are realy bad, you have to wait 45 min, and you can not establish a meeting for the next day...
My problem is that HSBC is saying now that the £50 welcome bonus was just for opening a Plus account, and not for just a normal current account. Does anybody who opened a normal current account with HSBC in that period got their £50 bonus?0 -
Not that I recall-I know there was an online offer through quidco to get money if you opened a current account and then I knew that HSBC direct were offering £50 if you opened anHSBC Plus account over a certain weekend but then I don't know after that i'm afraid.Loan-£3600 only 24 months of payments to go!!!

Well, it seems that HSBC doesn't like any complains, because they are closing my account. I paid every month more than £1000 in it and I never had a negative balance...I used it for faster payments most of the time. Anyway, seems a bit obvious that is after my complain...I presume I will have to deal with the other "rubish" banks, the ones that treat their customers with some consideration...0
