I've decided to invest in one of these, probably one of the plug-in ones so I can take it with me when I move. I have only seen one so far, in a local DIY shop for about 72 pounds.
Can anyone recommend a good one for a good price?
Thanks,
PS I know, I can't find the pound sign. I bought this in the US and it has a dollar sign - I know it's there somewhere, hiding. ::)

Try screwfix, £38.99 have had on a year and no scale in kettle, just wrap signal wire around incoming water pipe and plug in.http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp?id=13487&ts=57573What goes around - comes around

I also recall something on ebay, although I don't buy off ebay0 -
How do these things work? It looks like this device on the picture is supposed to generate some kind of weak electromagnetic field or maybe radio waves, but then surely it couldn't penetrate copper pipes?0

Had one of these devices for about 8 years and it has never seemed to make much difference. Still have to descale the kettle etc periodically. I would disconnect but it is not easily accessible.
Any one had good results? If so what make have you used? The Pegster
