Advice on a Barclaycard debt, please help.

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1278565

The above is a link to my post that I put in the credit card section but I think may be better here.
I have a question that is not in this post.

Barclaycard say that they cannot go back further that 6 years in providing me with statements, is this correct?
I need to see the statements from 2002 to see when this extra amount of money was added.
What action can I take if they wont provide me with them?
I hope that someone with knowledge of these things will be able to give me advice.
I have been trying since yesterday evening to register with the consumer action group but they don't sent me the email to be able to activate the account to enable me to post.

TIA

  • Thank you.
If that's the case then the extra money that I am trying to trace to this account will not be on any records then?
Perhaps that could be that they cannot persue it?
I have spoken to them since receiving the 2 yrs worth of statements today & they say I need to send £10 to get further info. But still will not say whether this will include statements that go back as far as 2002 so I could be wasting my money on something that will not answer my question.
