webhamster, i'm hoping you're right! my worst fear is that as it's switched on the language options are written in japanese, so how do you know the first screen says language options if its written in jap?!

sure i'm probably worrying over nothing tho', i'm just trying to cover all the worst case scenario's at xmas!

Bought an MP3 player a few years back from a seller in Hong Kong, the instructions were not english and it came up in I assume japanese, it took a little bit of working out but within 10 mins I had it working with english language.

If its not in english I'm sure your son won't take long to figure out how to set the language.
    Welcome, rogerramjet.

I also bought my son a ceramic psp for xmas and it does have a language change on
the menu set up which i set before wrapping it up.
There are also lots of websites where you can download an English manual.
I can email you it if you cannot find.
