Cheap way to clean a Halogen hob

A good drizzle of fairy liquid and a tablespoon of sugar.Rub it all in together .For any stubborn marks use a scourer then wipe off with a damp cloth and polish dry with kitchen roll or a tea towel.I find the end result much better than hobrite (and cheaper)

The stain is from mixed herbs, the pan boiled over :o

I used Hob Brite on mine, I've just looked for the bottle as if there was some left you could have had it but it's split all over the cupboard :o (I'd just bought the cooker when we moved to a house with a built in one so it's sat in the garage **sighs**) Seen it in Tesco, Asda, Home Bargains, Wilkinsons etc
One day I might be more organised...........

What is the best hob clearner out there? It needs to be cheap and cheerful but also with fantastic power as its got a few burns which don't clear with normal fairy.

  • I have used barkeepers friend. I got it in Tesco beside all their other oven cleaning type products, but can't remember how much it cost. I also got a hob scraper, to remove the burnt on carbon deposits.

Hob-Brite is good. It's in the supermarket, with the rest of the oven cleaners
