PC Guard is absolute garbage
I recommend downloading AVIRA anti virus and SUNBELT firewall onto your desktop
Disconnect the internet
Uninstall PC guard
Install the firewall
Reconnect the net
Install Avira, UPDATE and SCAN with it:idea:0 -

No,I haven't given up, far from it I have been running round like a chicken with no head.
I have done everything that everyone has suggested, and it seems to be working better. :j :j :j I can now log on and off ebay, and the other sites that I couldnt get into before. I can even proceed to payment on them too.
The date and time have been corrected and are still working!
I have done what Feanixxx suggested and cleared ss state
I have tried what Browntoa suggested but thats giving me problems as it it wont let me into windows update (Getting an eror message), and is showing the diagnostic window. Dignostic say that there are no problems on my PC and suggests refreshing page, re-typing address etc. But I will try to access it through my programmes rather than the link and see if that will make any difference.
I can't thank you enough for all your help and patience. I will report back as soon as I can access widows update.
I will do what aliEnRIK suggests and download Avira~ What goes around comes around ~0 -

The date/time setting should stay correct while the PC is on and when you replace the battery, it should then keep time when it is switched off. I believe that this is why you could not access your secure sites. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
I agree with aliEnRIK, get the free version of Sunbelt Firewall (http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Home-Home-Office/Sunbelt-Personal-Firewall/).
I've used it for years since it was Kerio and it's very good. Even the paid for version isn't that much (I paid $40 for a site licence and use it on seven machines). Wouldn't even consider anything else.
As for anti-virus I use ESET NOD32 which is very fast and catches just about everything but it's expensive.Of all the things I've lost, I miss my marbles the most.0 -
Browntoa I have managed to install the root update through custom, from my programmes. Thank you again.~ What goes around comes around ~0
