Morrisons

Yeah I agree with you 2boysmum, the meat is good in Morrisons. My local Morrisons sells some Simon Howie meat ( Butcher from Auchterarder in Scotland) and the quality is top notch. You can't get decent steak sausages anywhere else unless you go to Sainsburys which is too expensive for me, Tesco finest ones are horrible.
Their bogofs lately have been good too. Also agree with the poster who said you could stock up on non-food items to make up to the 40 quid if you don't usually spend that. Buy an extra packet of loo roll, washing up liquid, washing powder and look at it this way - that over the Xmas period you won't run out or you won't have to go out and stock up in bad weather. If you have a family sometimes it makes sense to stock up extra on these types of things anyway, nothing worse than running out of nappies!! You will use the non- food items eventually that you have stocked up on over Xmas and New Year.
Good for Morrisons, I think they've got one over on Tescos this time, very god marketing. Normally you get nothing back from Morrisons.0 -
Just realised you are in Glasgow too, same as me!0

thats funny, we have tried doing our weekly shops at all the main supermarkets, and find morrisons cheaper than the others, and at worse the same, this thing that asda is so much cheaper than other supermarkets is just a load of media hype, it may well be on items that not many people buy, but on your day to day stuff there is no difference, and if you are a family with kids then you easily spend £40 a week, so how are you spending more, to get £20 back?, Dave
I'm on about HOW MUCHSTUFF can you get for £40? Not alot... This is why we goto Asda as we can get more for our Money. With this Credit Crunch going on and When you have Appliances Blow up on ya at wrong times.. You seriously need to Stretch the money Far...SHOPPING RULE: ONLY BUY WHAT YOU REALLY NEED0 -
and if ur like a lot of people and spend more than £80 per week, split ur shopping in 2, pay twice, get 2 receipts and by the end of the four weeks ull be able to claim ur £20 twice (as long as you make up another name and addy for 2nd one) x0

Have you checked this out If you spend more You'll gain more Vouchers? aint there a limit on per customer?. 1 £20 voucher per customer?Cos if that was the case Spending more so you get more vouchers is ridiculous. Are you really going to spend £160 on shopping per month? Just to get a FREE £20 voucher... and on for the next month and so on, for however it's on for so long?
What Im saying Are their Limitations on these Vouchers on how many you get dependin on how much you spend? Has anyone actually Asked the company about this? SHOPPING RULE: ONLY BUY WHAT YOU REALLY NEED0 -
I'm guessing this is a xmas promo only and won't be on after xmas....I think it is a great deal. I shop around too, but I've always liked morrisons and I don't believe asda are any cheaper. Its easy to spend £40 for a family of four. And they've got some great bogof's on too at min.... I don't think Asda or tesco will be seeing much of me in next few weeks!0

Most families spent at least £40 a week on shopping bill anyway so this is a great deal for us!Our dream has come true...

There are limitations such as only one voucher per household but you could always use your parents address or something.scouserwench wrote: »Have you checked this out If you spend more You'll gain more Vouchers? aint there a limit on per customer?. 1 £20 voucher per customer?Cos if that was the case Spending more so you get more vouchers is ridiculous. If you didn't spend £40 a week on shopping I'd agree that it would perhaps
be a bit daft to spend extra just to get the vouchers (unless you bought things you would use like loo rolls etc) but I'd guess that most families would spend at least £40 a week anyway, I know I do no matter if I'm in Morrisons, Asda or Tesco.
If you normally spend about £80 a week it would be worthwhile to split the shopping in 2 then you'd get 2 receipts each week and 2x £20 vouchers at the end of 4 weeks.
If you spend that much money anyway it would be a bit daft to not collect the voucher, it seems a bit of a no-brainer to me?

I have a family of five so it is very easy to spend 40 quid to buy meals for 7 days, nappies, loo roll, etc at Morrisons. They have their value ranges just like Asda do so you can still get plenty for your money. As I said in an earlier post I spent about 65 quid this week at Morrisons which I think works out at less than a tenner a day to feed my family of five including my youngest who wears nappies. I actually think thats not bad, I could probably slim the cost down even more if I really tried or my budget gets tighter, which is completely possible in the financial climate.
The week in the run up to Xmas when I get my 20 quid voucher means those of us who would normally spend 40 quid and over can buy a few nice extras for our family which we maybe couldn't usually afford. What's wrong with that?
If you only spent the minimum of 40 quid which is 160 over four weeks and you are feeding a family on a budget then I think you'd be glad of the extra 20 quid at Xmas. I really don't think you'd make such a saving by shopping at Asda or any other supermarket at the moment, and I shop around all the time. Its a great offer, stop knocking it.0 -

If you read the terms and conditions the £40 has to be on one receipt. So you can't use multiple receipts eg 4 x £10 to get to the £40 spend each week. I don't think that's made very clear. HTH0
