Did you have anymore luck with selling the car?
I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
  • Nop did not sell it. I did a down trade to a escort van £310 for the insurance (8months no claims accelerator)

So the savings are about £50pm on the insurance and £40pm cheaper on fuel.

Am a bit down not having the fast sexy car but iv got £90 more in my bank to pay off my debt.

When I split with ex the custody of the cars came into play! I was driving a kia sedona (ok not very exciting but very big and comfy for 4 kids) It was costing £100 per week in fuel for me to get to work (i drive 90 miles a day to get to work and back), £65 per month ins, £210 a year road tax and very expensive servicing! I decided this was not the best option so It was sold and I bought a Seat Ibiza ecomotive - it does 70+ miles to the gallon, has no road tax and insurance costs 350 for the year (will go down next year as I had no no claims in my name) - the loan to buy it is at 4.9% (something to do with goverment incentive for green cars) - all in all I got a new car under warrenty and still pay over £150 less per month!
Ok not much street cred - but it does the job!
  • Iv only had the van for a 2weeks and iv paid off Orange all ready :T
  • Well done!

Will be looking at new cars myself in the Spring next year and have decided to go for something smaller than I have at the moment. Having worred myself daft over money for the past 4 years, it's really not worth the sleepless nights for me to stretch myself for something flashy.

After all, there's no more satisfying a feeling than paying off a debt, is there?
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
