I have a student RBS Mastercard which I am planning to use to order some goods from the US. My question is, how do I know what USD exchange rate will be used for charging me? Would this be determined by RBS or Mastercard, and can I predict how much it will cost in pounds? Thanks for any help, much appreciated.

RBS will add a foreign currency surcharge usually 2-3%0

You cannot predict the rates as it will be the rate whenever they process the transaction which could be anything from 1 day to 6 years after the day you make the purchase.0
