Just got me email to confirm my latest electricity & gas bills could be viewed online, and I can hardly believe the cheek of it!
All the meter readings are correct, in the last 6 months we used 1179 unit's of electricity and the 6 months before that we used 1719. No problem there, but what really annoyed me was the second page of the bill:
We owe you £xxx We have reviewed your account and based on our prices and how much electricity you use, we do not expect your payments to cover your future
electricity charges. Your monthly payments need to increase to £xxx
All this based on their calculations.... Estimated usage (units) 2649 I'm phoning them tomorrow to make sure they don't increase the direct debit.
I know the price for standard energy units has gone up from around 9p per unit to 12.5p per unit - (and how come discounted energy has gone from around 8p up to 12.5p as well?), but if our DD for the last 6 months have more than covered it, that's not an issue.

A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

Privacy online and all that but if you don't share the details we can't share the pain and sympathise (or understand).
You used 2,898 units and there's an estimate of 2,649 future use? There's been a 20% increase in price, probably?
If you don't want to share, don't share. But don't tease.0 -
Sorry, I couldn't see how if our payments have been more than covering our bills for the last year they can put up the DD.
Or is it because the unit price only went up in the last bill?
If that is the case, then I understand we'll need to pay a bit more - I wish they'd made it a bit clearer though, I don't remember being told how much my bills/units were going up by either. ( I hate trying to work out these bills).A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -

Not knowing what company you're with or tariff you're on…
But mostly prices went up jul/aug or oct.0
