in Credit cards
hi there, I have juts registered with the site and I'm hoping to find some friendly advice.
I have recently joined a supply list for teachers but it is providing no work for me. I have had no income for some time and I am in a bit of a pickle. I have total credit card debts of £5000. I am very close to the limit on all my cards and I am having to withdraw cash from the cards to make the monthly payments...
My partner has tried applying for a card with 0% balance transfer as he has a good job. But even he has not been successful and I am running out of ideas. My friend has advised that I should just contact the card companies and tell them my sitaution. Does anyone have any other advice?
thanks

You could try doing some private tuition. I've just been trying to find my daughter some extra chemistry A-level tuition and it was quite hard to find someone. Now I have, they charge £20 per hour. You could put up notices in the local supermarkets, corner shops, fish & chip shops etc, which wouldn't cost anything.0

And perhaps there are online equivalents of those notice boards? Gumtree or something like that? Also, if push comes to shove, a temporary McJob could keep you afloat till something comes up.0 -

Unfortunately there is no simple solution. You might find more help at the Debt Free Wannabe boards0 -
Sorry to hear your situation. We're busy and could use more tutors, especially if you are a qualified teacher... http://www.firsttutors.co.uk.
Drop a line through the site if you've got questions about what to charge, etc as we're well accustomed to working with new tutors. There are also tuition agencies as well as the online options and you could of course talk to contacts at previous schools to let them know you're in the market for some private work. All of those are free options to help you find some work.0
