Closing an ebay account

Hi Everyone, I've got a couple of questions about closing an account.

I sold an item (buyer paid over £40 for it) which I dispatched about 20 days ago. I've sent a message asking if the item arrived OK and they've not answered. They've not left feedback either but I'm not particularly bothered about that - just want to know that they've received it and it works.

I've had problems with someone trying to defraud me out of a mobile phone by sending spoof emails and just want to close the account and put ebay and paypal behind me. But I still don't know if this person who bought the item mentioned above has recieved it. From what I can make out they have 60 days to give feedback. If after 60 days they haven't, would it then be reasonable for me to close the account???

Also I got a refund of auction fees and am now a few pounds in credit on my ebay account, does anyone know if that will be refunded to my paypal account when I close the ebay one?

Thanks
Trying to only spend money when I absolutely have to.
Barclaycard: £4559-1500 = £3059 (Will have £900 to add to that end of September)

I am sure you would need to manually refund it from your ebay account to Paypal.
Might be better to wait a bit before you close your account.
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

We get a good few posts here about 'I closed my account and now I can't respond to the dispute a buyer has opened'

Leave your account dormant, but I wouldn't close it... personally I'd leave it 6 months to a year.
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j
  • Thanks to you both. Not the answer I wanted but at least now I shouldn't run into problems which may have happened if I did close it.
