RBS Royalties Gold Current Account

I have a RBS Royalkties Gold Current Account for which I pay £12.00 per month. You will probably say that this is a complete waste of money.
However I also have a business account with RBS for which I pay absolutely no charges as long as the account remains in credit. I can also transfer money between accounts immediatly on the internet. This would not be possible if I had accounts with different banks.
My RBS account gives my wife & I free travel insurance. We have claimed on this in the past with no problems. I also have a free £250 overdraft. There are also the other usual benefits such as discounts in restaurants and hotels.
Not too sure of the benefits of this. Who uses them?
Any suggestions?

What exactly are you asking? Is it is you feel that we agree with the benefits that are being offered? If so then that is down to the individual. Personally, I wouldnt pay for it but if you have had the benefit then that might make the cost worth it to you.0

Would like to know if you can suggest an alternative to the accounts I have at the moment given the benefits I receive as outlined in my previous post.0

A&L joint Premier Current Account (no monthly fee)comes with free annual worldwide insurance for both holders. I don't think that free £250 overdraft is a great benefit, but this accont does offer 0% overdraft too - for one year.0

I too have Royalties Gold account for which I pay £12.00 per month. I upgraded to this account (from Royalties) at a customer review. Iwas told that Royalties Gold a/c holders would benefit from a lower interest rate on the RBS credit cards they held.
A 2% discount on current rates.
Since 2002 my interest rates on 2 RBS cards has not been lowered, I pay the same as non-Royalties account holders. When I discovered this, last December, I started contacting RBS (branch, credit card centre, members help line etc.) and have been given various responses, most of which did not relate to my query, as yet this is unresolved. My last contact told me that my concerns, and my request for reimbursement of the overchaged interest, were being investigated by a "special team"!
Although I have asked for direct phone nos. or addresses this has been avoided, each time I'm given the same credit card centre phone no.
My husband also holds an account with RBS, initially Royalties Gold and now Royalties Premier, he also has never had his credit card interest rate reduced by the 2% and 3% rates as shown on the banks web site and literature promoted by the staff at customer reviews.
Please check if you are getting the lower rates, you need to have a Royalties account and RBS credit cards. Their web site has details, and the lower rates apply to existing customers, not just new.
I think this site is fantastic, it's given me the kick up the bum I needed to tackle my financial affairs.0
