Credit Card Refund

in Credit cards
I know this is a long shot but was wonder if I would be able to get a refund from my Credit card for the following situation.
I booked flights with FlyGlobspan from Aberdeen to Egypt I paid with Credit Card (Full amount paid - £1250).
I booked accommodation with Travel Republic in Egypt. I paid by Credit Card ( Deposit only paid so far - £150)
FlyGlobspan have now cancelled the Flights and offered alternative flights from another Airport but costing an extra £300! They have also offered a refund if I don't want the flights from the other Airport.
If I take the Refund from FlyGlobspan I will lose my deposit with Travel Republic (£150)
If I take the alternative flight offered, it will cost me an extra £300.
Either way I am out of pocket. Both were booked with the same credit card, but as separate purchases.
Can I claim my £150 deposit for accommodation from Travel Republic back from my Credit Card or am I dreaming !!!
It seems the airline can cancel flights when ever they fancy, and offer no Compensation.
Thanks for any help.

In that case would your travel insurance not pay this?0

I'd say you're dreaming to be honest. As the hotel booking is independent, they wouldn't be liable for refund - it isn't their issue that you cannot get over there (on your budget). Also the fact it's probably a non-returnable deposit in their (hotel) terms & conditions of booking means that you wouldn't have much of a leg to stand on with it.0
