Hi,
Would anyone be able to tell me what Arnold Clark charge for using a debit card to purchase a car.
I am trying to find out if I would be cheaper with a debit card or bankers draft.

Won't they tell you if you ring them, so you will be armed with what you need to know before you purchase?

I may end up doing that. I just wondered if there was anyone who had previous experience of paying them with a debit card.

Shouldn't be any charge for using your debit card.

However if it's a credit card they will charge you about 2% + vat...

My mum paid for her car on her debit card. She bought the car for £22,000 ish and paid £21,750 (less £250 deposit). She did call her bank beforehand to confirm that a payment would go through. There were no charges. I think most dealers prefer debit cards as they pay a fixed amount per transaction whether it's for £100 or £100,000.
