Sky recorder box

Hello. Hope I don't sound like a complete duffer but I know nothing about TVs (only just bought one after many years without one). If I got a Sky+ box could I also record other channels (freeview) progs on it or is it just restricted to Sky progs?

You can record any channel your subscription provides which includes all the freeview channels although you can't just buy the box, you will need to subscribe to a package.
  • Thanks for the replies. I should've said that I'd be subscribing of course! So is it best to have one of these or is it better to have a seperate hard drive recorder?

Sky plus is much better than having a separate hard drive recorder, series link is excellent !

Make sure you get someone to introduce you so you get the Sky+ box for free.

Not quite correct. Freeview comes via your aerial and SKY+ can only record from the dish via the SKY+ box.
Think you probably mean Freesat from SKY.

No I didn't mean Freesat, I meant any subscription you buy from sky will include most of the freeview channels

Many, but not all Freeview channels are available via Sky as free channels.
  • You can only record depending on subscription but you can get freesat (sky) if you want to cancel I believe there is a fee for that

I know once you cancel on your record are void they wont work, nice of sky to do this
