It does look like a good idea, but even if it's a small percentage of fryers that have problems, I don't see that it's worth the risk.

We love ours, and are hoping that they come down in price a bit so that we can buy another and cook 2 different foods at the same time. Its seems no more dangerous than a fan heater and we all use them don't we? And should it ever catch fire then I would rather have a teaspoonful of oil than a pan full to worry about.0

It is a great idea. Was tempted before. However, after watching watchdog I think I'll give it a wide berth for quite some time. I remember some experts essentially shocked at how this managed to get through safety testing....ie, it shouldn't have done.
Wonder if this is why Tefal have had to reduce the price a bit?
Oh...and its not the oil that catches fire but the mechanism inside the machine.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

They need to fix the design fault and start selling them at a sensible price.
They might be worth £50 then....British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

Was thinking about getting one of these when I saw them in Lakeland but wasn't sure. Still unsure as the reviews are a concern.
