The problem is that you're too aggressive in your responses and have an annoying habit of mis-qouting people. Every now and then someone has to stand up to you and when they do you shy off only to come back and mis-qoute people again??? I actually wonder where you have been for the past eight years - denying mortgage fraud (even though I wrote credit fraud - mis-qouted again!) really takes the biscuit. Then once the evidence is staring you in the face you then have the naivity to play it down and then hurl insults at !!!!!!. Do a bloody google search on mortgage and credit fraud - only then will you see the scale of the problems! It happened here as well the US.

Oh and by the way, when I say credit or mortgage fraud it includes those commited by the average Joe and criminal gangs! It has one important side-effect: to push up prices!

But chucky wants prices to stay irrationally high.

That's why he denies the scale/existence of UK mortgage fraud.

He's not interested in the truth - he's interested in perpetuating a lie.

So trying to explain his error is doomed to failure; he's not interested in actually finding out or discussing the truth.

I wouldn't bother with him if I were you.

Wow !!!!!!? It's years since I've heard this sort of clap-trap - you are no doubt the progeny of Margaret Thatcher and that's not a compliment;) Yes - let's do nothing:j Let's put everyone on the dole:j - Let's increase the amount we have to spend on benefits, reduce our incoming taxes because nobody has a job that really will reduce our deficit:rolleyes: And we can all stand by and watch in wonder and awe at how wonderful the markets are at sorting it all out:dance:

But even better this will decimate the housing market and finally there will be houses on sale for 50p. Whoop whoop_pale_

I think both here and in the US the govt delibrately refused to intervene in the recession, then again we had North sea oil revenues to waste on the 3 million unemployed.

'As unemployment reached the unprecedented level of 3 million There was widespread criticism of the government. During 1981, in a famous letter to the Times, 365 economists signed a letter calling on the government to alter its economic policy and put an end to the recession.'

'The govt argued that the recession was necessary to shake up the economy and get rid of inefficient firms. It is true that some firms were inefficient but most economists would argue that the recession was deeper than it need to be. With the rapid appreciation of sterling many good firms also went bankrupt.'

'Combined with rising interest rates, sterling appreciated from £1 to $1.5 to $2.5. This appreciation in the pound adversely affected Britain’s exports and manufacturing sector. It was here, that the UK suffered the worst effects of the 1981 recession.'

    !!!!!! bows down to Thatcher.
So Thatcher wanted to combat inflation, what she did was destroy the manufacturing sector.

oh Carol - why don't you go and be a good wife... but before you do that let's talk about facts which is something that you're not very good at from experience.

mortgage fraud accounted (drbeat agree that these are current figures and may increase) for only 0.00003% of all outstanding mortgages. that was £40mm from the current value of UK mortgages that is £1,216,728,000,000 and an extremely small amount.

so when you tell me that i deny the scale/existence of UK mortgage fraud - i think it is you that needs to get facts instead of reading the daily mail and trolling websites.

drbeat i take your point about credit vs mortgage debt/fraud - we've don't really need to go there anymore. PM me and we can discuss if you like, rather than argue on here.

I think we've made our opinions quite clear. We should just agree to disagree. After all this place would be mighty boring if everyone agreed with each other. :D

So your 'facts' like my reading the Daily Mail deserved a reply, did they?!

drbeat seemed to be answering the real issues under discussion far better than I could - hardly necessary for me to quote him.

I hope you and topov are very happy.
