Rights Issue when shares are held in a SIP

Hi,

I work for Abbey and today it has emerged that Santander are going to arrange for a rights issue.

Does anyone know how this would affect any fee shares, partnership shares and dividend shares that I hold withing a Share Incentinve Plan?

Would I be able to take part in the rights issue and buy more shares at the 4.5 euro price that has been announced? Can I do this net of income taxt (ie. buy more partnership shares with money out of my payslip at this price)

Any comments on how this works would be very appreciated.

Thanks
