In theory, yes, although you probably won't be able to use features like automatic shutdown and the like.
One thing to check would be what kind of mains cable you'd need to connect one to ther other.0 -

Yes you shouldn't have a problem, most tills use a standard IEC power cord (like a kettle lead), which is a standard UPS power connection. If not and your till is hard wired to a UK plug, either change the plug at the end, or buy a UPS with UK sockets.
Just get a simple UPS such as an APC BackUPS without fancy shutdown links, as - as Nick says - you won't be able to use them on a standard till.
APC make many variants, check Staples, Dabs and various other websites, I've always found them to be excellent.0 -
Hope you've kept stats for how long the power cuts have lasted - make sure the UPS battery will last at least as long, if not longer. But with a till you can't be drawing too much power...mindyourlanguage wrote: »I always have a power cut at least once every two months, can I use a UPS for a cash till?
(Really wish I could have woven in something about "Till, we meet again..."!)0 -

A UPS mainly provides mains voltage for a set period of time. You can plug anything into it that runs off the mains up to the maximum load capacity of the unit. You could plug a telly in if you wanted. It doesn't have to be a computer.0
