WIFI Router Question

I have a BT1800HG wireless router connected to my pc , but its playing up sometimes my laptop and my nokia n958gb can't connect as there's no wireless signal there , its getting annoying as i use the laptop and the nokia a lot ,
I've just bought a belkin G wireless router off ebay and was wondering if its possible to connect it to my phoneline socket in the hallway or the bedroom , then i could just turn off the BT1800HG router when i turn off the PC and monitor at the same plug
This would save me changing my pc's software as the BT1800HG software comes with 2wire internet explorer which i'd like to keep even though i use firefox all the time
Would this work ok both routers on at the same time ?

I'm presuming your current BT1800 is an adsl router/modem combination and not just a router? IF this is the case, Are you sure the Linksys G router you are getting is also the same combination for adsl?
As espresso said, you wouldn't be able to use both at the same time, and if the Linksys is adsl enabled, you will have to go in to it's firmware to put in your current log in info to your ISP, such as gateway used, username/password and sometimes validation/subscription ID (Depending on ISP) as well as certain protocols.
Putting this info in is simply typing it's internal firmwares default I.P addy into your web browser and entering them that way, no bespoke software is used with most modem/routers using this method.0 -
its a belkin wireless G router ! , i have an old modem thingy i got from tiscali so i might need to use it , the new belkin router comes with a software disc and instruction booklet so i should manage to get it set up ok, just thought i might have been able to just plug my new router in and on straight away but it shouldn't be to much of a problem anyway , i wonder if my old BT1800HG has overheated or something its hardly been off for two years , it works ok most of the time but its too !!!!in off when it goes wonky0
