Working for Sky from home

Someone has mentioned to me that Sky often have jobs working from home, all you need is broadband. Does anyone know anything about this?
I've looked on their website under the career section but they don't mention working from home anywhere.
Thanks.

It is done through teletech/hirepoint. Look for the teletech threads.

Thanks, I'll have a search for Teletech. I have no idea what the work for Sky entails, it's through a friend of a friend...so the details get sketchy! If I find anything out I'll post it.

AFAIK, all teletech work is pretty much bog standard call centre stuff except at home. the big rule is the cust should have no idea of the difference.
They've had both cust service roles and telesales that i've seen but i havent gone for any as of yet - can't quite work out what's always put me off...?
    On the up :D

the best way to get answers is to go to hirepoint as teletech staff are not allowed to discuss any client details etc
  • Dont you have to buy your own stuff to get started from home with Teletech? I looked into this recently and it worked out pretty expensive for it all, so I didn't bother in the end.

The only thing you have to supply is a landline phone (if you don't already have one) that has handsfree facility. Even so this would only be for a couple of weeks as Teletech will supply you with a proper phone. The majority of people buy a cheap one from Argos - and take it back after training. Having said that, this is not a must but it is easier whilst you are doing training, instead of constantly holding the receiver to your ear.

You don't have to buy anything.
I did training without a handsfree phone until my headset phone arrived (about 7-10 days after training started). All it did was make note taking in training a little easier.
11 months later I'm still working for the company-I love working from home !
