Thanks so much for your replies
. I dont actually get a receipt or statement from my landlord, he has a company and the money goes straight into that account - as did my rent when I was sharing downstairs. The contract is all through a very reputable agent though.
I am in two minds about doing it when I get paid next or maybe around christmas time as this month might be a bit tight for me but then do I want to be short of cash over christmas
oh well it depends, the courts arent open christmas week are they??
I would do it tomorrow if I knew I could keep my flat & I had the £495 to hand lol. Have it in my mind that I must do it before the New Year so I'll be discharged next year in time for a truly wonderful christmas :T
Thanks again guys xx0 -
Mine had that "May" clause in it but though the OR said they'd contact my landlady I neve heard anymore about it... like you I have a guarantor

It's just a get out clause in case there are any other issues!
Agree with Peachy
I don't get a reciept or statement for my rent.. never have done in my years of renting!:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -
Thanks Waspeze, so do you think I should just leave it til the OR mentions it rather than telling my Landlord myself? I really cant see him throwing me out cos I go bankrupt as he knows my shocking credit rating, (like I dont have one!) Guess its just the worrying before I do it.
Also on my SOA, where it says "does anyone else have interest in any of the properties you own, rent or lease? This interest may be a sub-tenant, a guarantor of the mortgage, a partner, a joint tenant, joint lessee or otherwise" - should I include my guarantor of tenancy agreement here? I dont want that person implicated in my bankruptcy at all but will they be?
Sorry just one more thing on the SOA - under the assets bit (I dont have any) is it viable to put £0 in the cash in bank, building society or hand? Or what do you think I should put on there? I am going to be taking out any monies in my account just before I file at the court, just to cover myself in case anything gets frozen...
Thanks again :-)0 -

If you have a good relationship with him then tell him .. I didn't tell mine coz i've never spoken to her and at the time i'd mis read my agreement and didn't see the bankruptcy clause:oFeelingLighterAlready wrote: »Also on my SOA, where it says "does anyone else have interest in any of the properties you own, rent or lease? I honestly can't remember what I put for that .. if no one answers i'll dig out my paperwork when I get home this evening!FeelingLighterAlready wrote: »Sorry just one more thing on the SOA - under the assets bit (I dont have any) is it viable to put £0 in the cash in bank, building society or hand? You put down your situation as of the day you are going BR so if the account has a balance of zero then put zero (I did)

If you could let me know about whether to mention there is a guarantor on my agreement for that clause I'd appreciate it, thanks :-)0

I think you do put you have a guarantor, but not really 100 per cent sure.
The person does not have an interest in the property they are just a backup for you renting the property. Shelter may be able to answer this or someone else here may.

I checked my forms and I did put down my guarantor, I know for a fact they weren't contacted though!
Couldn't tell you for sure if you "have" to do this but I did and it wasn't questioned or followed up.
