LCD Flat screen wont work.

I have recovered a flat screen from work that has stopped working (our IT men have just looked at the obvious and just binned it). The power gets to the unit ok but when turned on, you get a quick flash on the screen and then it stays black.
It is a 15" Mitac model: MT-15LXA-C

Could be the backlight is dead or possibly the inverter.
I suggest you look at this page for some info....the biggest problem with repair will be actually finding out what's wrong and the cost of replacing the faulty part...which may cost more than a new monitor these days
