Just Giving Alternative
Options
Virgin Money are entering the market and from April next year will launch an alternative to Just Giving. They claim it will be cheaper because they only intend to cover their basic costs, and operate it as a not-for-profit.
Charities can register interest here: http://uk.virginmoney.com/virgin/giving/
I hope it works, Virgin are a great brand and I guess that is what is in it for them, to spread the Virgin brand name.

With Virgin Money entering the market and others like Charities Trust http://www.charitiestrust.org hopefully the game will be up for Just Giving.0

I think that is a bit negative, Just Giving have a brilliant website, very user friendly and as really helped our charity no end, but the Virgin service sounds promising and if it is a tad cheaper great, if the service is not as good then we will stick with Just Giving.0 -
Charities Trust are cheaper then Just Giving as far as I know. I have also found Charities Trust to be very helpful.
They are making a lot of money from the site for not much work. The whole thing is virtually automated.0 -
Justgivng take 5% that's more than Amex, Visa and Mastercard.
Currently according their web site they have collected £405,596,471 of which they have taken £20,279,823 of which that could have helped save lives.
I agree that its a nice easy to use site, but it doesn't take £20m to cover your website, security, customer service and overheads.0 -
but without that £20m, how much of the £405million would have been raised? I'll wager a lot less than £385m.for more info check out www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk . You'll find me there.
New Year's Resolution: Post less unnecessary posts. (and that was 2007)
yes, I realise I may appear cold and heartless a lot of the time.0 -
I am currently using a JG site to raise money for an event in June.
In hindsight I wish I had looked for a site charging less! It is still an excellent site though.
Another alternative to JG is: http://www.bmycharity.com/home.aspxThanks to all who post comps!
