Travelling to the US - exchange rate
EmmS_2
Hi, I am travelling to the US this week and the $ rate has not improved in the last two weeks. I'm looking to see where is best to buy some $ before I go and the best exchange rate so far seems to be the post office at 5.1 which was 5.4 last week.
I do have a nationwide debit flex acct and realise I can withdraw cash there at 0% chanrge, however how do I know which exchange rate I am getting and is it best to do that option or get some cash ($) here before I go?

In regards to your nationwide go to:
http://corporate.visa.com/pd/consumer_services/consumer_ex_rates.jsp
to see the rates that you will be receiving if you withdraw money out on your visa abroad.
As for the other questions, there are plenty posts on the forum from users explaining the best sites to get the best rates.0 -

If you can get 5.1 dollars to your pound then run to the Post Office do not walk! And please post the name and address of the Post Office in question.0 -
It's a no brainer to use your nationwide debit card when you get there.
You won't know (in figures) what rate you are getting but it will be the best rate available on the day from just about any legal source.0
