Back-up DVD on a MAC?

Hi, can anyone help? I have copied and backed up in the past on a PC, but do not know how to do it on a Mac...I have switched the region coding on my Mac to region 1 for the moment, but I know that you can only change it a few times before it is locked so I want to avoid swapping it too many times and thought backing up might help as it made the disc I was playing region free...obviously, this is purely for my personal use....Please can anyone help?

Thats one thing I miss on a Mac. A decent DVD ripper and burner. I have one for the pc that can rip a DVD, compress and burn in around 20minutes. But I haven't found anything decent for the Mac.0

You might find that MacTheRipper 2.66 will not rip a lot of the newer DVDs. For this you need v3 which is donationware (see the forums for how to get it).
Well worth it if you have a newer collection. MTR and DTOX(DVD2OneX) are the preferred combination0
