Savings account with Jam Jars

Lynsabelle
I am looking for an online savings account that will let me create little jam jars or pots within the one account that i can label 'holiday' 'car' etc etc. These are short term savings so interests rates are not my main concern; its more the ability to get organised. This 'jam jar' facility does not seem to be something listed in the benefits of savings accounts.
Can any one recommend me anything??
Thanks!

Egg Savings Accounts.
Egg Money Manager etc. you can open numerous Savings accounts and name them different things.Rate was 4.75%. Not sure what it is now though after the base rate cuts.

Intelligent Finance have this option (though each 'jar' has a different account number - useful because you can pay into a specific jar)0

Why don't you use a simple spreadsheet with columns for each category, and each time you make a deposit into your account, spread it about in any way you want.
You can't be a technophobe or you wouldn't be posting here or using online accounts. If you are not familiar with spreadsheets, I'm sure you can get a friend to help. It would be very easy to use once you have set it up.
Give it a go!".....where it is corrupt, purge it....."0 -
I noticed Sainsbury's offer this when I was on their website earlier - or at least, I think it does. I use the spreadsheet method referred to above. (The same can be achieved with a pen & paper as well!)
They pay 5% although this hasn't come down since 14 October (ie has done since the October cut, but not since the last November cut).0 -
We have jam jars with Halifax but no idea if the rates are any good0

you can do this with ING Direct, each one has it's own account number also0

Principality Building Society's e-saver account has 'pots' within it, up to five.0

I do this with my nationwide flexaccount . Open half-a-dozen e-saving accounts online, label each one with e.g Bills, Food, Car, Xmas,. I can then transfer forth-n-back into flexaccount as needed .old enough for my bones to feel the cold .0

Spreadsheet is far better. You can then chase the best rates rather than limit your choices.0
