Hi try taking out the battery and disconnect the ac power lead and then press the On (start) key for 5-20 seconds. Then reconnect power and try powering. Good luck.0

in addition to this i wouild remove any removeable drives. This drains the motherboard of power.I have finally acknowledged my debt.....0 -
Could be the charger for its faulty does any lights come on when it is plugged into the laptop....what make is it? is the charger genuine? I'm led to believe that newer Dell laptops will allow non original chargers to work with their laptops but will not charge the battery as they are matched (something to do with chips in the charger and battery)Welcome, rogerramjet.

The above problem is sometimes caused by a build up on static within the laptop:: No Links in signatures please - Edited by Forum Manager ::0

Sounded like a power management/suspend problem. If it happens again, try holding the power button down for 6 seconds this will do a hard boot on many laptops (i.e. no need to remove the battery/mains)Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
