Paypal Question

Like all ebay users I have to use it and have done for some time. I currently have the account set up so payment comes from my bank account and is backed up by a creditcard.
Is there a way that I can change the setting so that payment is taken from the creditcard thus giving me more protection and if so how do I do it?
Thanks
Chipps

I was just about to ask this very question:eek:

I had to give paypal my bank details so that I could be verified as they said I had reached a £1700 limit on credit card without being verified.

I have added a new credit card and have verified the address, so can I now delete my bank details?

And will I still be verified due to my credit card address being confirmed but no longer having bank details shown?

    Thanks

  • Thanks, I'll give it a go, I din't think you could remove a bank account without adding a new one.

I have mine set up linked to an account with credit card back up.

I dont think you can default to the credit card as payment source, but when you pay for something it gives you the option to "change payment source" for that transaction. You will then get a screen trying to talk you out of using a credit card (presumably as Paypal will itself pay merchant fees) - just confirm the transaction then.
  • I never get the option of bank a/c now, I just managed to get credit card

Mine is set up to pay for items and fees on credit card, i then have a 2nd card listed which is a debit card. In Paypal you go into 'my account' under 'edit profile' under the list Financial information 'credit/debit cards' there is a list of all cards registered with paypal, under the 'edit' option you can tick the box 'make primary' this should then default to this card when making purchases it does come up every time you make a payment with the card and a drop down menu if you want to pay on another card at any time.

I hope I have explained this ok.
  • My card is set at primary however payment still comes from my bank account.

If you have multiple payment methods available, PP will default to the one that ISN'T credit card. Just need to change it every transaction if you want the direct debit to stay.

So how do I do that?
What are the benefits of keeping the DD?
