What a great idea, and what a brilliant site!! You're right, some of them are poignant, some funny, but they make me feel okay about some of my dark little secrets :o

I'll definitely bookmark it - thanks for that.

    from poo to relationships eh...

I've had a few - some good some bad (11 yrs, 6 yrs and 2 yrs) they are getting shorter I notice so maybe the next one will be around a month! I do think people change though but never if you want them to change. We all change and adapt over the years but in my last relationship I decided that I should compromise more, think less and forgive more but this didn't help either so while I think that you need to work at it I think there must be an element of choosing the right person in the first place. or maybe if he hadn't been borderline alcoholic control freak it may have worked...

deep essay for a Monday night so off for some more Wii bowling!

  • phew, I've just stopped myself spending £14 online........

Tesco Direct half price sale on Christmas trees and lights has started a couple of days early and I put some lights and a tree in my basket. Last year I looked for ages at getting a new tree. The one I have is a 5ft quite cheap one I bought when I moved here 4 years ago. I got it for a couple of quid from a charity shop way before Christmas and each year I think (before I put it up), my tree is a bit tatty.....however, when I get the stuff on it, I kind of think, it's ok actually and I remember last year thinking - this time next year - remember - you DON'T need a new tree!!!

    Phew..........that was close.........

Well done on the restraint there Babe!

Although...you've just reminded me that the new decorations and lights that I bought last Christmas are in the loft of the house that I moved out of in January this year

Oh well, looks like I'll have to go for the minimalist look this year! I usually go to my brother's in Manchester for Christmas/New Year anyway, so who needs decorations if you're not at home to see them?

Well done BB, I have no restraint when it comes to Christmas. I have a lovely real tree every year, although in DFW style last year I dug one up from my mums and have it in a pot ready for this year :)

My tree is tatty and cheap too, but I pile so much tinsel on it, you would never know. I love Xmas - it will be very weird this year I think. Goodness, only about 4 weeks until I will be putting my tree up (need to bribe someone to get it out of the spider-shed for me first though!).

Every year I make my Christmas list smaller by letting friends/family know that I won't be buying them presents this year (I used to blame my own debt, now I can say I'm doing it to save them from more debt!) - it's always gone down well as who knows what to buy folk for Christmas anyway?

Also, another one of my 9 nephews and neices turned 18 this year, so that's them off the Christmas list! 3 down, 6 to go! Woo hoo!!

I've managed to spend very little so far. I picked up a free Elizabeth Arden eyeshadow this weekend (courtesy of Prima and Boots), so that'll do for one of my neices, and I bought two Elizabeth Arden gifts for my friends' birthdays and got a gift set which I'll split that up for 2 more neices. My little nephews (aged 3 and 5) will get Tom Baker Dr Who scarfs that I finished knitting yesterday!

My trouble is that I like giving presents...probably what got me into a lot of this debt!
