Any decent 1-yr fixed bonds left paying monthly interest?

I've already got BM & B&B maxed to £50k so I'm now looking for some others. It's v important that it has a monthly interest option.

The Coventry BS Poppy Bond still seems to be open but can't see many more that are paying 6%+?

I'm very interested in this too .... but sadly cannot really invest until the Icesave monies are returned. The frustration level is ... well, .... killing

same here! i split up proceeds of house sale and i now use the income from bonds to pay rent as opposed to buying again. am really worried about what to do with the money i've got coming back from icesave though as just not sure there will be any accounts out there paying decent monthly interest by then. sigh.

Im looking for the monthly option too. Anyone know the best fixed rate currently available?
  • Bank Of Cyprus UK but you need to invest a minimum of £50,000 for their monthly interest bond. All their other bonds only require £1. I don't trust the resiliency of island banks though, as they are worth more than the country itself. The FSCS isn't responsible for the first 20,000 euros of their passport scheme. The FSCS might step in and also pay the first 20,000 euros if the cyprus protection scheme failed but you'd need to check with an adviser first.

  • Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank offer the same deal. Unlike their annual interest fixed term though, you have to apply for the monthy interest term in branch. They are withdrawing the offer at 5pm this friday. Once you've applied, you'll have until the 25th to pay your money in though, I think. Call them to make sure.

  • Cyprus sounds as flimsy as Iceland to me.

I think that Kent Reliance has got a decent rate at the moment too? Assume that they're safe-ish...

I just hope these 6% offers are still around by the time I get my Icesave money back but I'm not that hopeful!!!

~Ive printed off both a 1 year and 2 year application form from Kent Reliance BS incase it 'goes off the air' before I can send my money to it. Hopefully if a cheque is sent with the proper application form that they had on the site they will allow a number of days for it to be used? Worth trying anyway.
Dont know what happens if Kent is taken over if it looks like going down the tubes - will the takeover BS honour the fixed rate for the remaining time I wonder?
