itouch itunes a/c

i just brought my teenager a itouch, now she wants to get free games off itunes like her friends, had a quick look and seems you have to put credit card details in, not really prepared to do this as she would then beable to buy what she wanted without my knowledge. does anyone have any suggestions or know away of using itunes without registering card info. thanks

This is one of the thrustrations I found with itunes, I found you need an itunes account just to download the free album art, in the end I had to bite the bullet and handover my CC details but in your case this won't be an option.

someone will have to confirm this as I've not tried this but one way round maybe is to buy the lowest value itunes voucher inorder for you to create a itunes account without the need handover any credit card details.

When you're setting up the account it maybe a good idea for you to hold the password so you know what goes on, if she selects a game from the store even if it's free then it's ask for the password

Finally I recommend purchasing apps from itunes on your PC/Mac rather than through the ipod touch, I have problems with installs via WiFi

Go to the Itunes Store homepage and scroll down. At the bottom-right you should see "Top free Apps"

Pick one of the and then click to "Get App"

It'll ask you to sign in or create an account.

You'll then have the extra option of "None" on the payment screen:

Don't ask me why you can get that option on the Free Apps pages but not on the free Single of the Week page or anywhere else when you sign up to get something free on Itunes.

I don't know if that will then mean you can download all free stuff from Itunes, but I've been getting free stuff from them for years with a card that expired long ago (It was valid when I used it but they've never tried to get me to update it) so it may be that they won't care how you signed up until you try to buy something
