Have you any other credit cards/mobile phone contract, etc? Are you on the electoral roll at your new home? It's very likely you'd be rejected if you're not on the electoral roll. I don't know if there would be much point in sending a letter disputing the rejection - they reserve the right to refuse and they don't give out the criteria they are looking for so I'm not sure what it would achieve? It's not about what you earn. My boss is a partner in a law firm and his salary is about 20x what you earn, he has many properties and lots of investments but was refused the Easyjet credit card recently!! The thing with him is that he's very bad at remembering to pay things on time, so I explained to him that he probably didn't actually have a great credit rating just because he was rubbish at paying on time!DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

The reasons for cc rejection are mysterious and vary from week to week, depending on the economical climate, the internal workings of the card company and probably what colour socks the MD is wearing. I'd just chalk it up to experience and try another card. Also have a look at your credit file to see if there's anything odd on there.0

If you have just moved house this could effect the decision, especially if you have moved to a different electoral area as you may not be on the electoral role yet.0
