Exercise/dance classes in Belfast?

Options
OK, looking to lose some weight!

Does anyone know of any exercise classes in the city centre or South Belfast? I live on the Lisburn Road and work in town so something handy to either would be good. I'm interested in boxercise, body combat, step, yoga, weights, Pilates - anything really. I'm also keen to learn to dance if anyone knows of dance classes.

I'm thinking of classes in community centres etc, the sort of stuff you never get to hear about.

I would have posted this in the NI weight loss thread but thought that it might attract more attention in a separate thread.

Thanks.

It's in East Belfast unfortunately but thanks!

I meant to say - I'm also interested in joining a club to get active - running, walking, cycling, dancing, badminton etc. It might also be more MSE than classes and more sociable.

    Anyone able to help?

    Thanks.
  • For the dance and pilates you could try the Crescent Arts Centre, just down the road from Queens.
  • Or a bit of pole dancing at Polercise in Donegal Street. It's a great workout and it's fun too. But there are no changing rooms or showers available. You would have to change in the (tiny) toilet, or change before you leave work. The studio is also REALLY cold too.

It's closed for renovations for a while. Anyone know where the classes have moved to?

  • I can really recommend Neil's pilates classes. I've been attending his classes for 3 years and he's a great teacher.

  • Hi-there are Tae-bo classes in East Belfast-close to town centre and some at Finaghy which are pay as you go. they are held in community centres and are really good fun and a good all over workout. I started them back in September and have def toned up a lot. What I liked about it too was there is no 'gym' type committment. this is the girls contact number tel 07876758868
