laptop or notebook

:confused: I am loking at a laptop online and it has 15.4" screen but says "notebook" I know netbook is the really small ones but can someone tell me the difference between a notebook and laptop?
TOTAL 44 weeks lose. 6st 9.5lb :T

  • It is (allegedly) because they get so hot underneath now that you shouldn't keep them on your lap so they moved to the term notebook.
  • yes when my laptop overheated and kept turning off I rang the helpline and they told me 'you shouldn't have been using in on your lap it makes them overheat' I said 'its a laptop' and the reply was, 'no its a notebook' grrrrrrrr! I take it the new name is the get out clause!
  • One wat to use it more safely on your lap is to buy one of those lap trays. It is a tray (designed for food) which has a beanbag sewn on to the bottom of it that way the notebook is sitting on a hard surface and has the airflow it needs.

    thanks everyone, got the notebook/laptop today and will remember to tell the new owner not to use on his lap lol
