Eon/Heatwise is a con

  • I have just worked it out precisely. I will save £6 per month.

But, and this is the important bit, I no longer have to put up with the vagaries of the economy 7 tariff. In other words I can use the electricity when I want without worrying about cost.

    Thanks again.:T
  • You have clearly gone out of your way for me. Thanks very much.

And what's more, I believe you've found he solution.

Have just called them (for about the 14th time this week - they must be getting sick of me), and sure enough you are completely correct and I have swapped to the much cheaper normal tariff. Whats more they say they can back date this to 8 September 2008 (the date I moved in).

Still a little expensive, but much much better.

So, a big thanks from your loving daughter.:D

Well thought i was on Heatwise, I was untill July this year when I fixed my prices (Price Protection 16). The only problem with that is the storage heaters have been cutting induring the afternoon on the heatwise timer, but I am being charged the stadard rate (11p KWH) rather that heatwise (5p KWH).

I have had esitmated bills for the last year. The net result is my meter read bill will be around £320. If they had kept me on heatwise it would be around £220.

I am currently atempting to get my tarrif changed back to heatwise and backdated. I am not sure whether to do this all by email or telephone. Any suggestions as to the best way to go about this. I have not provided E-On with my meter reading but have done the sums.

I have also started switching the storage heaters off during the day.

Did you come off the heatwise tariff to get the price protection tariff? If so I don`t think they will backdate it. I always try to phone first as you can discuss it much easier then sending emails or letters back and forth. Tel 0800363363.
  • I think I will call them tomorrow with my updated meter readings and query the difference between the two tariffs over the phone; how the storage heaters and water heater usage on the two tariffs would affect my bill. I shall wait until the paper bill is in my hands before ringing up to take any further course of action. This also gives me more breathing space to pay the bill

I have just done an estimate using the tariffs provided by storminbalder at the start of this thread and the differance is only around £30. I have been on estimates since Febuary.

I am now trying to moniter my usage but that is a little difficult as the meter is in a locked cupbard in my block of flats and the agents don't like coming out to open it.
